For the last 6 months, I have been using a Redmi Note 8 and in
this article, I am going to share a full review of this amazing smartphone.
It's been 6 months since I have been using this device. I use it
very hard and test it with every angle. Just after buying Redmi Note 8 it
mistakenly drops into the water. If you are seriously looking for the budget
smartphone then just stay with me till the end I am gone tell you every buying
aspect of the Redmi Note 8.
So let's begin,
In August 2019 Xiaomi launched their full-fledged budget
smartphone with starting from 10,000Rs. Redmi Note 8 has solid hardware, an
attractive, hulkbuster battery along with a super great camera.

Design
Xiaomi made Redmi Note 8 pretty much similar with redmi note 7.
BUT Redmi Note 8 has curve edges and compared to note 7. The design of Redmi
Note 8 makes it more handy and glossy than note 7.
Redmi Note 8 comes with a large touch screen with a waterdrop notch
at the top. Xiaomi also gives a white notification LED at the top just like every other Xiaomi smartphone.
Redmi Note 8 comes with three stunning colors Neptune blue,
moonlight white, and space black. While for review I have Redmi Note 8 with
moonlight white.
The chin of note 8 is slightly thick but no worry Xiaomi
designed note 4 in such a way that it looks slim and handy. The back of this
smartphone is covered with a shiny glass finish which looks sturdy.
At the right of the phone, there is power on/off buttons and
volume rockers and at the back of the phone, there is a highly sensitive
fingerprint scanner. It is also much lighter than the note 8 pro
I like the Neptune blue color but due to the unavailability of
that, I have ordered moonlight.
Display
Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inches IPS LCD with a waterdrop
notch at the top for accommodating the front camera. This display comes with a
high resolution of 2280x1080 Pixel.
While using this in the daylight condition I found this display
very bright but set it for 100%. But it works, unlike other smartphone
displays.
The Redmi Note 8 display has a nice viewing angle that works
pretty well indoors as well as outdoor conditions.
Main Camera

The Redmi Note 8 comes with quad rear cameras which is pretty
much similar to Redmi Note 8 pros. So, It has a 48MP primary camera, 8MP
ultra-wide camera, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP Macro lens.
In this smartphone by default, it clicks photos at 12 MP but you
can customize according to your preference and requirement.
Redmi Note 8 cameras take great pictures in daylight conditions
but it grapples in low lighting conditions but thanks to night mode that helps
to click decent photos.
In daylight, this camera captures razor-sharp pictures with
plenty of details and spots a distinct color. The 12MP camera is a bit average
but works great in daylight.
Redmi Note 8 is prominent enough to click ultra-wide photos. The
portrait photos of this camera are very sharp and accurately blur the
background.
Honestly speaking, there is no need to bring so many cameras on
the table. What really matters is the quality of the cameras.
Front camera
The Redmi Note 8 comes with a 13MP front-facing camera that is
capable enough to capture high-quality selfies with lots of details. Xiaomi
also brings more inbuilt photo modes which are great for selfie and Instagram
lovers.
Performance
Redmi Note 8 is equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 665
chipset processor. I have a 6GB RAM 128GB ROM variant that works extremely fast
and super smooth.
After 2 months from the purchase date, I mistakenly dropped it
in water then I was really worried about it but somehow after one week it
automatically started without repairing and expense.
Now it works perfectly fine. Before PUBG ban I played PUBG and
other high graphics games but I didn’t find any lag in its performance.
The redmi note is preloaded with the Android 9 Pie operating
system has MIUI 10. But the one thing is pretty annoying with this is ads that
pop-ups in MIUI 10.
Recently Xiaomi gave an MIUI 11 update, I didn’t update my phone
but I hope it is amazing. But there is no such update regarding the android 10.
MIUI has various features such as dark mode, game turbo, and
many more features that will help you.

Battery
Redmi Note 8 provides a 4000mAh huge battery which stands the
whole day with one time full charge. It also charges much faster with an 18W
Type-C charger. It takes almost 1hour and 30 minutes to charge fully.
Pros
+Sturdy hardware
+long battery
+Massive display
+Great camera
+Value for money
Cons
-The camera does not perform in low light conditions.
-Spammy notification of MIUI 10
My verdict
What Xiaomi brings in this price range is outstanding. If you
are running a short budget and You want a pretty decent phone with all
specification fast performance, and long battery life then this phone is made
for you.
It is also suitable for heavy gaming. Now you bet?
