Most of the smartphones come with eMMC(embedded MultiMediaCard similar to SD card) storage. This type of storage is economical that's why used in most mobile phones. Currently, eMMC V5.1A is the latest storage type variable in the market.

In case you overfill your eMMC storage, Its performance degrades over a period of time. To avoid such a problem you can fill only 80% of the storage.

To overcome the problems of eMMC storage Samsung comes with Universal Flash Storage(UFS). Initially, Samsung introduces UFS storage in Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

As UFS storage is faster than eMMC that's why brands other than Samsung also use it in their smartphones. In the case of UFS storage processor can read and write the data items.

After the huge success of UFS v2.0 Samsung launch UFS V3.0 which is currently the latest UFS storage type in the market.
