Everything about resolution of Smartphone display

Resolution is defined as the number of distinct pixels displayed on the screen. It is usually denoted as width x height and it has a unit of pixels. Let’s understand it through the example: 1028 x 728 Pixel, this screen has a width of 1028 pixels and a height of 728 Pixel.

The height and width used in the resolution are not the physical dimensions of the display.

Resolution

Resolution is just a brief about pixel dimension but it didn’t tell anything about Pixel Per Inch (PPI).

Standard display resolution available in the market:

Types

Resolution

High Definition (HD)

1280 x 720

Full HD (FHD)

1920 x 1080

2K, Quad HD(QHD)

2560 x 1440

4K, Ultra HD (UHD)

3840 x 2160

Resolution of the display does not mean any kind of a physical size of display or image. For clarification, two different kinds of a display may have the same resolution but with distinct display dimensions.

The greater the resolution of the screen the more clear image will appear.
